Chow Mein Noodles

Chow mein noodles are a delicious and popular dish. Here’s a simple recipe to make chow mein noodles at home:

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz chow mein noodles
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 1 cup sliced carrots
  • 1 cup sliced bell peppers
  • 1 cup sliced cabbage
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Optional: cooked chicken, beef, shrimp, or tofu

Instructions:

  1. Cook the chow mein noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large pan or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic and sliced onion to the pan. Stir-fry for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Add the carrots, bell peppers, and cabbage to the pan. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
  5. If using cooked protein (chicken, beef, shrimp, or tofu), add it to the pan at this point and stir to combine with the vegetables.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and black pepper.
  7. Add the cooked chow mein noodles to the pan, then pour the sauce over the noodles and vegetables.
  8. Toss everything together until well combined and heated through.
  9. Serve the chow mein noodles hot and enjoy!
